Born in Washington, D.C., Patricia Franklin graduated from Spingarn High School a year early to go to Bethune-Cookman College where she earned a B.S. in Elementary Education. From the warm, sunny, beaches, she moved to Greely, Colorado to attend the University of Northern Colorado where she received an M.A. in Special Education. She has taught students with special needs in grades K-9 for 30+ years.
Music and art have always been an integral part of Patricia's life. She uses both in her classroom and has been recognized by the City of Raleigh Arts Commission for her contributions to the Arts.

Patricia Franklin is currently Coordinator for the North Carolina Songwriters Co-op,
a non-profit organization dedicated to the support and promotion of songwriters in the state of North Carolina.
